Kayleigh Starr
B.S. Public Health | Health & Science Communications
Hi, I’m Kayleigh—a writer, strategist, and communications specialist with a background in public health. I help mission-driven teams turn complex, technical ideas into clear, engaging content and tools that support real-world impact.
I earned my B.S. in Public Health from the University of Cincinnati, and my work spans digital strategy, medical and science writing, AI-powered content development, and knowledge management. I recently started my Master's in Health Communications at Boston University!
At the Sabin Vaccine Institute, I worked across content development, SEO strategy, microsite integration, and internal communications. I also led the creation of three AI chatbots—one to help identify funding opportunities, another to extract insights from 150+ documents for GAVI, and a third to improve SEO alignment. My writing experience includes contract work in oncology research, where I supported a phase 1 real-world evidence initiative, and time at Element Apothec, where I co-authored a peer-reviewed review on integrative pain management and created educational content on CBD wellness.
In both staff and freelance roles, I’ve collaborated with teams across public health, education, and tech—helping them write better, communicate smarter, and make their ideas easier to understand.
If you're curious about working together, you can check out what I offer here.
